Saturday , I spent the most wonderful day with my best friend from high school — can you believe we’ve been making each other laugh since we were 13?! 💕 Time really is sneaky. One day you’re passing notes in homeroom, and the next you’re comparing necks and laugh lines by the pool while you barbecue. 😂🍔
We also got to spend some time with her mom, who’s now facing dementia. Even though her mom is slowing down, she still flashed us that gorgeous smile like nothing had changed. It was such a gentle reminder that no matter what life throws our way, those small moments of joy matter most.
Honestly, watching people we love grow older is bittersweet. Some seem to age like fine wine, and others like… well, my turkey neck! 🤭 But you know what? I’m learning to embrace it all — the scars, the saggy skin, the extra pounds — they’re all signs of a life fully lived!
And sure, some days I feel like I’m just going through the motions — between work, kids, and my FMF flare-ups — but then I blink and my “babies” are already 16 and 15. 🥲 Life is short, messy, beautiful, and wildly unpredictable.
Here’s to showing up for each other and savoring every silly, imperfect second along the way — because we can’t slow down time, but we can sure as heck slow down long enough to smile at it. ✨💖
